About Marcus
– Avi Moyal, Chairman IKMF Head Quarters

I'm Thriving
With over four decades of martial arts experience, including three decades instructing self defense and personal fitness and two decades working nightclub security, I've become a respected expert in responding to and de-escalating violent situations.
During the past ten years, I've had the privilege of travelling the globe, certifying men and women in over 20 countries to become Krav Maga instructors, conducting instructional seminars, and rank testing . I'm the only non-Israeli on the international Krav Maga federation instructors team.
Currently, I'm teaching “mentality and movement™️", providing students the tools to survive and thrive during violent encounters.

I'm Not Afraid To Tell You How It Is
In Brent Lymer's book "A Doorman's Memoir", his memoir about working as a Vancouver bouncer during the 1990's, Brent jokingly referred to me as "....a Tasmanian Devil with Tourettes".
"As a doorman, Marcus is also absolutely fearless, which is both a good thing and bad thing. It’s “good” because you know he’ll have your back. It’s “bad” because it makes de-escalating a situation a tad bit harder when there’s a Tasmanian devil with Tourette’s syndrome whirling around the perimeter."
Although I'm still a hyperactive ball of energy and have a panache for profanity, I'm proud to say an older Marcus understands the importance of de-escalation.
Regardless, I love this description of me and I'm proud to have the nickname "Taz" as a reminder.
